What To Do When You Are Having A “Ho Hum” Kind Of Day?!

What to do when your having a “ho hum” kind of day?  Let’s face it, we all have those days when we are lacking in inspiration and enthusiasm…I know I do!  I used to beat myself up if I wasn’t feeling inspired or excited about the day. I would translate those feelings into thoughts like,  ”I’m not earning my keep”,  and my sense of self worth went quickly down hill.

What I have learned to do when I am having a Ho Hum kind of day…

1. Be compassionate with self!  Seriously..who told me I needed to be superwomen anyway?!

2. Acknowledge your feelings and allow them to be okay.

3. Take a few deep breaths and get grounded!

4. Know that everyone has days like this and even needs days like this to unwind and just be!

5. EMBRACE your Ho Hum day!

Once you become aware that it is perfectly alright to have an unenthusiastic day, you can revel in it and make the most out of it.  Indulge yourself by taking naps, read a good book, watch a movie or two, take a bubble bath, surf the internet until your brain is mush..you get the idea.  Relax and let go!  If you are going to partake in a “Ho Hum” kind of day, you might as well get the most out of it!

Remember, You Are Beautiful, You Are Lovable, You Are Worth It!

The “Me” Is More Than The Reflection I See!

When struggling with low self esteem, we often associate who we are with what we see in the mirror.  Our bodies are not who we are.  Our physical being is merely the vessel in which we maneuver through our life, on this earth and in each moment. Our bodies change, grow, shrink and shift.    The “Me”  is more than the reflection I see!  The me is unchanging and constant.  I am the spirit and soul that radiates from within.  I am beautiful, I am kind, I am lovable, I am passionate, I am amazing.  I am so much more than the image looking back at me.  Today I see the true me!

Challenge Yourself With Random Acts Of Courage

Today I suggest attempting random acts of courage!  When you challenge yourself and step outside of your comfort zone you open the door to new awareness, opportunities and grow your confidence and self esteem by leaps and bounds!

You Are More Than Your Problems

What ever struggle pulls at your heart, be assured that you are more than your problems.  You are not the darkness that surrounds you, but rather the seed of light that shines deep within your soul!

A Thanksgiving Treasure

As Thanksgiving approaches, I feel blessed and thankful to have found my life’s purpose in the hearts, souls, tears, smiles and laughter in each of you. May this Thanksgiving fill you with a deep knowing that you are and always will be the very treasure you are searching for!

Quiet Giants – Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park California

Named after the great explorer and adventurer, Jedediah Smith, the grand old woods simply took my breath away.  They stood at over 350 feet and I felt quite small beneath the towering canopy of ancient Redwoods.

My eyes filled with unexpected tears as the serene beauty and magnificence filled my spirit with joy.

The knowledge that many of these ancient beings had stood there for over 2000 years sent my imagination reeling as I thought of the stories these trees could tell.

The enchanted landscape was blanketed with clover, fern and mossy fur and I fully expected to see an elf hop out of one of the hollows at the base of a tree.

I felt as if I carried a special invitation that allowed me entry into a realm of dreams, possibilities and knowledge with great teachers from another world.  I believe John Steinbeck said it best when he referred to the great Redwoods as “Ambassadors from another time”.

Some of the trees carried scars and char marks and I realized these quiet giants could teach us a thing or two about life, hardship and perseverance.

My coaching thought for today:  If you ever find yourself feeling bruised and tired, think of yourself like a tree, plant your feet firmly on the ground, hold your head up high, stretch out your arms and embrace all the universe has to offer knowing that even when you feel swayed by emotion and hurt, your truth and spirit remain strong and lasting.
